Summer Placements

At WJM we want to give law students a flavour of what it’s like to work in private practice. The summer placement scheme at WJM gives us the opportunity to get to know one another.

We are looking for students in their third year of their LLB or first year of accelerated LLB who demonstrate strong business focus, initiative and have energy and enthusiasm, and a willingness to take responsibility and a sense of humour helps too!

The 2-week Summer Placement Scheme has been designed to allow you to experience various practice areas within the firm, providing insight to the firm and our culture. Placements are paid.

This is a great opportunity to secure a traineeship with us. During the last week of your summer placement with us you may be given the opportunity to take part in assessments and as part of our traineeship recruitment.

The application process for summer 2026 is now open. Placements will be in our Glasgow, Edinburgh and Inverness offices from Monday 1 June to Friday 12 June 2026. There is no interview process and students will be selected on the merit of their application form.
