WJM Wrap up Packaging Deal for Macfarlane Group

WJM were delighted this week to assist longstanding clients Macfarlane Group plc in their acquisition of Network Packaging Limited. The deal was announced to the Stock Exchange on 8 September 2014. To help deliver the deal, which was valued at around £7.5million, WJM assembled a team of experts including Ken Long, Michael Drysdale, Susan Hoyle, Neil Darling, Neal Anderson and Graham Bell. Together, the team provided corporate, tax, property and employment advice to Macfarlane Group plc.
Our clients, who are a manufacturer and distributor of packaging materials, acquired the entire issued share capital of Network Packaging Limited, a packaging materials distributor which had reported revenues in 2013 of around £7.8million, with a view to strengthening their existing packaging distribution activities in the Midlands.
Macfarlane Group plc’s Peter Atkinson told The Scotsman newspaper that he had been following the progress of Network Packaging Limited “for quite a while and for us it was a really good opportunity”. WJM were pleased to be part of helping our clients seize that opportunity.
