I work with individuals, businesses, multi-nationals, private equity groups, banks, hedge funds and venture capitalists to help businesses find the investment to grow. I help you invest in a business or to secure investment for your business.
According to Chambers and Partners 2024:-
"“Ken has an encyclopaedic knowledge of corporate law in Scotland.”
I bring that pragmatism to your private equity transactions where I seek to achieve a “win–win” solution all round. My practical streak means I strive to find solutions to all those niggly issues which arise and can, if mismanaged, become deal breakers rather than deal makers.
My philosophy is to give you a clear understanding of the path to completing your deal, and what may and may not be conceded.
My recent activity has been very varied and covers:
Advising an Edinburgh based angel investment group in 6 investments, including two days of ‘Dragon’s Den’ style presentations to the group by those seeking investment;
Advising in the Scottish part of a £500M refinancing of a UK wide manufacturing company;
Advising Catalysystems on 4 funding rounds;
Advising a wind farm developer in a £15M financial close. This close generated the resources to build the wind farm.
Advising investors in "small" wind in a joint venture to fund 7 sites through the planning process;
Advised Scotrenewables Tidal Power in 5 investment funding rounds aggregating £10m investment.
