Pedalling with purpose: WJM colleagues saddle up for charity

Teams from Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP (WJM) recently completed a 168-mile Cycle Thon in support of Prostate Cancer UK, raising £900 for this vital cause.
Colleagues from the firm’s Glasgow and Edinburgh offices took part in the fundraiser, organised by its Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) committee, cycling the equivalent distance from the firm’s Glasgow to Inverness office.
A static bike was set up at WJM’s St Vincent Plaza office, with 15 team members taking turns over the course of 10 hours to collectively reach the target. A special mention goes to Partner Craig Stirling, who completed the final gruelling 18-mile stretch to Inverness.
The challenge was inspired by the work of Sir Chris Hoy and his Tour de 4 initiative, which raises awareness and funds for cancer charities.
Ruairidh Cameron, Solicitor at WJM and one of the organisers of the Cycle-Thon, said: “It was fantastic to see so many colleagues from across the offices get involved and support such an important cause”
Olivia Finnie and Patrica Gillen Trainee Solicitor’s and other organisers said “it was great to see everyone encouraging each other to reach the finish line and celebrate at the end of the day with pizza!”
Prostate Cancer UK plays a vital role in supporting individuals and families affected by the disease, and this Cycle Thon forms part of WJM’s wider commitment to community engagement and charitable initiatives across its offices.
