WJM’s Popular Renewable Energy Mini-Conference returns to Inverness

Tuesday 16th June is a red letter day for your diary if you’re in the renewables industry as WJM’s popular Renewable Energy Mini-Conference comes to town.
The theme for this year’s conference is “Collaboration and Communities”
Every renewable energy project touches a community somewhere and at this year’s Conference, we’ll be looking at how communities and developers can each get the most out of a collaborative project.
We’re collaborating too - Highlands and Islands Enterprise are joining us to show how communities, business and local agencies are working together to deliver energy, and create valuable local benefit across the Highlands and Islands
The outline programme* includes:
- Finance for your project: finding investors and becoming investor-ready
- Investing Community Benefit Wisely: maximising impact
- Shared Ownership & Joint Ventures: what developers are looking for in a community collaboration, and opportunities for communities to share ownership
We also expect to touch on some exciting new developments including the Low Carbon Infrastructure Transition Programme (LCITP) and the Scottish Government Local Energy Investment Fund (LEIF) which have the potential to have transformative effects and unlock projects across the region.
Our industry recognised speakers have been there and done it, and you’ll be able to benefit from their experiences, good and bad. They’ll tell you the benefits and pitfalls they encountered as they moved from good idea to generation.
