The UK Digital Economy Act, which includes a new Electronics Communication Code, came into effect in April 2017. The code is intended to provide regulation that will fully support the rollout of a digital communications infrastructure across the UK. On 25th May 2018, a European directive called the General Data Protection Regulation will come into force, replacing existing regulation across the EU.
