WJM Guides Accountancy Firm Milne Craig Through Acquisition with Azets
Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie has detailed its role in leading shareholders of accountancy firm Milne Craig through an acquisition by national firm, Azets.
The full-service law firm was instructed by shareholders at Renfrewshire-based accountancy and wealth management firm Milne Craig to advise on the deal.
The 100-year old firm was acquired by Azets, a leading UK accounting, tax, audit, wealth management and business services group – and the acquisition received full regulatory approval and completed in late September.
WJM’s corporate team, led by Partner Colin Millar, advised Milne Craig’s five main shareholders throughout the transaction. The deal’s value remains undisclosed.
Colin was assisted by fellow Partner Stephen Grant, as well as qualified solicitor Thomas Fairbairn, with the team assisting Milne Craig in navigating the intricate legal and regulatory process.
Colin said: "Our corporate team has extensive experience in mergers, acquisitions and commercial contracts and we use a blend of our technical knowledge and commercial awareness to bring our clients effective solutions.
“We have worked with Milne Craig on a variety of projects over the years so it was a pleasure to know that we were first choice to guide the company through this landmark deal.”
Despite the change in ownership, the entire Milne Craig team will remain in place, ensuring continuity for clients.
The shareholders are confident that Azets’ backing will enable the business of Milne Craig to build on its century-old foundation and continue to thrive as part of the wider Azets group.
