WJM Dunfermline Solicitor Shortlisted as Rising Star
WJM Dunfermline solicitor Kiran Bahia has been shortlisted as a nominee for this year’s Scottish Asian & Business Awards.
Kiran, an NQ Solicitor in the Corporate team at Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie, has been announced as a finalist for the Rising Star in Law award after standing out as an exemplar of dedication and excellence.
The Awards showcase the strength of the Asian community, the impact they have on Scotland’s culture and economy, and their progression over the last year.
Taking place on December 19 at the Glasgow Marriot Hotel, the awards celebrate the achievements of Scottish Asian businesses and professionals whose continued grit and dedication has created a lasting legacy for what the Scottish Asian community are capable of as business leaders and drivers of the economy.
Kiran said: "To be selected as a potential Rising Star in Law is an incredible honour and something that came completely out of the blue due to an anonymous nomination.
“I’m absolutely thrilled to have been nominated as my legal journey has been fuelled by passion and determination, and this reflects the dedication invested in my career. I’ve dreamed of being a lawyer ever since I was young.
“I don’t come from a legal background at all, so didn’t have the benefit of guidance from family in the profession who could guide me and share their industry experience, or a network I could tap into, but I was determined it was what I wanted to do, and I went for it.”
Kiran actively contributes to diversity and inclusion efforts, authoring insightful blogs on culturally significant events for her firm's intranet. She also engages in local charity work, as a volunteer with Guru Nanak Gurdwara to serve meals and provide food packages to the homeless and to those who are living in poverty.
