WJM Donates to Host of Good Causes

Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP (WJM) has donated almost £5,000 to Glasgow-based refugee charity Refuweegee and five local foodbanks across the country.

The donation of £4,778 was taken from the Scottish firm’s charity fund in order to give back to the local communities it serves.

The money will be split between Refuweegee, a charity that supports refugees and asylum seekers by providing essential resources and fostering integration within local communities, and five foodbanks located near WJM’s five offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, Dunblane and Dunfermline.

Fraser Gillies, Managing Partner at WJM, said: “We are proud to be able to support these important causes by redirecting unclaimed balances to our charity fund.

“In the midst of the current cost of living crisis, we hope that our donation to the Refuweegee charity and local food banks will provide much-needed relief and support to those facing food insecurity during these challenging times.”

The five local foodbanks that will receive the donations are The Edinburgh Food Project, The Trussell Trust in Glasgow, Start Up Stirling in Dunblane, Dunfermline Foodbank and Blythswood Care in Inverness.

Selina Hales, Founder and Chief Executive of Refuweegee, said: “A huge thank you to WJM for the generosity and support they have provided with this fantastic donation.

“This contribution will enable us to provide essential resources and a sense of belonging to those who find themselves now living in Glasgow.”
