WJM and Irwin Mitchell Provide The Traitors Finalist Andrew Jenkins Respite on UK-Wide Trek for Brain Injury Charity

Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP and Irwin Mitchell Scotland were delighted to welcome Andrew Jenkins, finalist of BBC hit series The Traitors, to WJM’s Glasgow office as part of his remarkable UK trek in support of brain injury charity, Headway.
Andrew, who sustained a life-changing brain injury aged 21 and was told he may never walk again, is walking 1,200km across the UK to raise awareness and funds for Headway. On Friday, he visited our Glasgow office, where he led an inspirational talk about his journey, sharing the physical and emotional challenges along the way.
During his visit, IM’s Head of Personal Injury, Kim Leslie, joined Andrew to discuss the motivation of his trek, which is partly sponsored by Irwin Mitchell, as he passed through Glasgow. He opened up to Kim, and later to our gathered staff, about the psychological impact of his trauma and raising awareness of that being his primary motivation for the endurance test he is currently undergoing.
It was an inspiring and impressive talk from Andrew, who began his journey at Ardross Castle in Alness, where The Traitors was filmed, and will finish at Cardiff Castle in his home city. The trek will also stop at Lancaster Castle in England and Carrickfergus Castle in Northern Ireland, covering all four home nations.
Speaking of his efforts, Kim Leslie said: “This challenge is not only a testament to Andrew’s resilience after a severe brain injury, but also a powerful effort to support Headway, a charity dedicated to helping brain injury survivors.
“Andrew’s story is one of determination and hope, having been told he might never walk again after a serious car accident in his younger years.
“His words inspired us and brought a lot home for the Personal Injury team, given the work we do with clients on a daily basis.
“We wish Andrew all the best for the remainder of his journey and were delighted to help his endeavours by sponsoring the logistical costs of his challenge.”
