WJM Acts for Thornbridge Sawmills in Sale to Cairngorm Capital

Wright, Johnston & Mackenzie LLP were delighted to advise our clients Thornbridge Sawmills in the recent sale of the Company to Cairngorm Capital, which was reported in the news last week.

WJM have acted for Thornbridge Sawmills for 25 years, including working with the management team during a management buyout in 1998.

The sale to Cairngorm Capital was the management team’s reward for successfully growing the business since the buyout, which included substantial redevelopment of the company’s seven acre facility in Grangemouth.  The upgraded facility now houses the company’s sawmill and timber treatment operations, joinery manufacturing, as well as bulk storage.

As reported in Business Insider today, Thornbridge Sawmills' managing director Bruce Muirhead said: “Our reputation for consistently providing the best products available, with outstanding customer service, has made Thornbridge a leader in the Scottish market.

“Our partnership with Cairngorm Capital enables us to support continued growth and heralds a new phase in our development.

“Together, we will pursue new opportunities for innovation and growth, to the benefit of our customers and employees.”

WJM’s Graham Bell, who acted in the sale for Thornbridge, added:

“We have been pleased to act for Thornbridge over the last 25 years. Sale of the Company is a significant business milestone and we congratulate all parties in successfully achieving this.”
