Schools are back – but what should employers know when taking on young workers?

From weekend jobs to after-school shifts, employing young people can be a great opportunity for both businesses and those taking their first steps into the workplace. However, there are additional rules employers need to keep in mind.

Associate Ruth Medlock, who assists clients with employment matters, says employers should pay particular attention to working-hour restrictions, rest breaks, minimum wage requirements and any local council permit requirements when employing school-age workers.
