Key Industry Figures Attend Virtual Renewables Summit as Talk Turns to Green Recovery

More than 130 renewables professionals from across the country gathered at our virtual summit in November to discuss the green recovery.

Onshore wind was the focus of the event which attracted some of the industry’s leading voices.

Our annual renewables seminar looked at the way ahead for the on shore wind sector – exploring key topics including grid availability, charging reform, habitat management and impacts on communities.

Andy McFarlane, Head of Renewables at WJM who chaired the event, said: “It was extremely encouraging to see such a fantastic turnout of developers and industry experts eager to discuss the green recovery.

“Onshore wind will continue to play a key role in reducing emissions and helping in the fight against climate change. Its environmental and economic benefits make it an extremely attractive investment, and we would like to see it make a major contribution to the post-COVID recovery.

“Our event provided the perfect platform for our speakers to lay out the targets in front of us and the challenges in achieving those.”

Speakers at the event included David Bell of David Bell Planning Ltd, John Boyce from RES, Fin Becks-Phelps from Fred Olsen, Tony Crombie from Ventient Energy, and WJM’s Managing Partner Fraser Gillies.
