I provide clients with advice on all family law matters, including divorce, separation, co-habitation, kinship care and child contact cases.
I have particular expertise in adoption and permanence cases. I have a keen interest in matters involving the welfare of children and child psychology.
Understanding that these matters are sensitive in nature and can be highly emotional for all involved, I am here to guide you through each step of the legal process.
I am a member of the Family Law Association and the Adoption and Fostering Alliance Scotland.
“We’d been warned from the outset that our legal adoption process was likely to be difficult so it was great that, from our very first meeting with Emma, we had full confidence in her ability to guide us through.
Throughout she was friendly and accessible, always taking time to explain and answer questions. She was also very thorough, organised and calm, even when events took unexpected turns. We couldn’t have hoped for a better advisor and representative.” Recent adopter
I was the instructing solicitor in the reported case of “CA v Children’s Reporter, Note by Summary Sheriff M.F.H Hodge”.
This case involved the successful Appeal against the decision of a Children’s Hearing and resulted in the prospective adopter’s home address being protected from disclosure.
