Everyone should make arrangements which allow them to be looked after properly if they become ill or incapable, and to make sure that their family is taken care of after their death.

I help people to plan for their and their families’ future.

Sometimes this involves helping people to understand what tax and other liabilities their family might face after that person’s death and how those liabilities can be minimised to leave more for the family. I also help bereaved families to deal with their loved ones' estates through managing all the legal complexities and distributing assets in line with the deceased’s Will.

Recent Activity

I have drafted Wills for a family with multiple business interests. I have advised on estate planning and tax mitigation for clients with complex financial arrangements including blended families (second and third marriages), families with vulnerable beneficiaries such as disabled children and families with multiple trust arrangements.

I have advised Trustees dealing with Trust property on their legal position, the tax implications of proposed courses of action and the future administration of their Trust. I have established trusts and submitted applications for them to become registered Charities to the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (OSCR).
