Your Licence: Refreshed or Revoked? Check Now Says WJM’s Stacy Campbell

Personal Alcohol Licence holders are being urged to check the date their Licence expires and act swiftly if it needs to be renewed. The first tranche of personal licences were issued on or before September 2009 and the deadline for renewing these licences is coming up fast!

Stacy Campbell of WJM’s Leisure and Licensed Trade Team said, “Many personal licence holders face having their licences revoked if they don’t complete the required 5 year refresher training. It is a legal requirement that such training is completed and the penalties are severe if it is not completed. If a licence is revoked, a person is unable to hold a personal licence for a period of 5 years and there is NO right of appeal. Losing your personal licence could threaten the viability of your premises as you cannot sell alcohol without both a premises and a personal licence.”

WJM’s Leisure and Licensed Trade team have prepared a Briefing Note to provide more information.
