- Accredited by the Law Society of Scotland, as a specialist in Agricultural Law
I help farmers and landowners with all aspects of their businesses, from buying and selling farms, to leasing land, diversification and succession planning.
I have been acting for farming and landowning clients for over 15 years, advising on complex title issues, agricultural tenancies, renewable energy options and leases, telecoms leases, crofting rights, servitudes and minerals issues.
Working alongside our tax planning and family business specialists I assist in setting up the right business structures for farming clients and planning for succession in a way that is tailored to the needs of our clients.
Being the daughter of a farmer, and having also married a farmer, I have an invaluable perspective on the practicalities of farming life. I have been accredited as a specialist in Agricultural Law since 2013.
I have advised many landowners on Option and Lease arrangements allowing them to benefit from renewable energy projects on their land.
I have acted for both landlords and tenants in both the creation of and issues arising out of agricultural tenancies.
I also advise renewable energy developers on agricultural tenancy issues.
I have recently been involved in the reorganisation of a client's business structure in order to allow for further investment in the business involving a change in focus on the type of farming, ensuring the business is fit for purpose for future succession planning.
