I work in the Planning Team within the Firm’s Commercial Dispute Resolution Group. I also provide specialist advice to our Renewable Energy Team.
core skills
I act for a wide range of commercial clients including wind farm developers, retail and housing developers and local authorities. I assist clients with all aspects of contentious and non-contentious planning matters. My experience covers:
- Drafting s75 agreements;
- Drafting planning objections;
- Providing pre-application wind farm advice in relation to wind farm applications;
- Regularly reviewing for clients both site proposals and Environmental Statements against planning policies;
- Planning and Compulsory Purchase Order Inquiry work;
- Judicial Review and Court of Session Appeals
I also have experience in the provision of environmental advice to waste management companies, including acting in two appeals against refusal of PPC permits relating to waste oil facilities.

I am a member of Scottish Renewables Planning Sub-Group and regularly contribute to discussions and consultation responses. I also write articles for publication in the Scottish Planning & Environmental Law journal.
I also sit on the Chartered Institute of Waste Management Scotland’s Business Waste & Resource Management Group
