Estate Planning - The Big Picture
Does life imitate art or does art imitate life? While philosophical questions give depth to late night conversations, they might not help with managing the everyday aspects of your life.
Art does illustrate life though so we’ve chosen one of our favourite art forms, film, to provide the images for this edition of Business and Life. Films as diverse as The Matrix, The War of the Roses and Great Expectations illustrate the greatest roller coaster of all – Life.
Business and Life aims to provoke thought for you, your family and your business. We hope this rather different edition of Business and Life does just that.

Entrepreneurs - A Land of Opportunity
Two somewhat contradictory media stories set us thinking about entrepreneurship. The first story suggested that Scotland lacks young entrepreneurs and the second that we should rely on entrepreneurs and their business vision to bring Scotland, and the wider UK, out of recession.
We asked ourselves “what makes an entrepreneur – is it education, nature or nurture?”
To answer that question, we asked John Anderson of the Entrepreneurial Exchange; Professor Sara Carter of the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship and business angels Nelson Grey and Jock Millican if they would like to contribute their thoughts to Business and Life.
You can read their input in Business and Life.

This issue of Business and Life looks at some options which could, depending on your personal circumstances, form part of your ‘Plan B.’

New Pastures Expanding Horizons
Business and life is about change, and change often means expanding your horizons by doing something new, like moving to new pastures.
WJM has been expanding its own horizons and helping clients expand theirs through planning for and managing change. This edition of Business and Life is, like business and life, all about change and how it can be planned for and so managed.
